The PDA between Upen Patel and Krishma Tanna on Bigg Boss 8 is apparently just a publicity stunt to boost the game show's TRPs.
According to insiders, the current season of Bigg Boss is trying very hard to counter the plummeting TRPs. Replacing Salman Khan with Farah Khan as the show’s host did not help at all.
According to an insider, Patel has planned the romance with Karishma Tanna.
"Upen had a big Tamil release Shankar’s I during the week he made his re-entry into Bigg Boss.
"Having failed to establish himself as a leading man in Bollywood, he is now looking at re-launching himself a villain in South Indian cinema. The strategy was to re-enter Big Boss and create a hungama there,” says the insider.
Apparently, Karishma, who has proclaimed on camera that she has a boyfriend, was taken into confidence by Upen about his flirty plans.
“It’s a strategy. The kissing in the dark and the open flirtation are meant to secure Upen and Karishma’s place in the house till the finale and give them the 'footage' the contestants want desperately.
"Upen and Karishma are playing love birds.
"In reality, Karishma is in a relationship. Upen, we believe, has a steady girlfriend in London,” says the insider.
