'A girl, who is in a serious relationship for two years, is kissing and cuddling a contestant without breaking up with her partner... it doesn’t look genuine at all.'
Sana Khan tells Rajul Hegde/ Rediff.com the real story about the Bigg Boss 8 contestants.
Actress Sana Khan has become the first contestant to be evicted in the reality TV show’s new avatar, Bigg Boss Halla Bol.
The Jai Ho actress had enjoyed a long run in the show’s sixth season but she got evicted within two weeks in the current season.
“My experience inside the house was amazing,” Sana tells us. “I took time to open up as I am not the kind of person who gels with strangers easily. I took my time to find my comfort zone but by the time I had, I was out.”
“Everyone is so unreal in the house. All of them are doing things for the camera. People, who were bad mouthing each other, have become close now. They change groups and opinions about each other on a day-to-day basis. I was really confused. Mahek (Chahal) always thinks that she is correct and the others are wrong. Everyone is playing games but she’s playing the dirtiest one.”
Sana feels she could not offer on the show what others could.
“I didn’t do halla (make a noise) like the other contestants. I think I was miscast for the show’s extended version. I could not create any drama, as I didn’t have an ex-husband (contestants Dimpy and Rahul Mahajan have separated) or a romantic angle (Karishma Tanna-Upen Patel are being romantically linked),” she says.
Sana claims she heard about Karishma and Upen’s televised lip lock only after she came out of the house but that “Karishma is not ready to admit that she loves him.”
“How can they fall in love all of a sudden after his re-entry?” Sana asks. “There is no logic. A girl, who is in a serious relationship for two years, is kissing and cuddling a contestant without breaking up with her partner... it doesn’t look genuine at all.
“They walk hand-in-hand the entire day as if one of them is going to get lost in the house!” she exclaims with a laugh.
Though it was a short stay, the actress claims she has made a friend for life.
“I did not expect to bond with Sambhavna (Seth). Initially, I thought I would stay away from her. I told her I was scared of her. But I was surprised that we gelled so well.”
Sana claims she was confused with the concept of Halla Bol.
“We are not given power to nominate champions (the existing contestants of the eighth season). All of us had to work in the house. So how would we challenge them? It was not equal play between champions and challengers.”
So who is she rooting for the title?
“As an audience, I used to like Gautam Gulati and Pritam Singh. But when I went inside the house, I thought Pritam was the most genuine person. He has no double standards. He is a simple guy, no hot body to show off. Yet, he is holding on to the show. There must be something in him that people are voting for, right?”
Sana will be seen next in the upcoming Khatron Ke Khiladi show.
“You will see a different side of me,” she promises. “I was the funniest person on the show. But that’s all I can reveal.”
“I am looking for good work but I’m not in a rush to take up anything and everything,” she concludes.
