The Big Bang TheoryShortly after Chuck Lorre's hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory was renewed for three new seasons, the show's leading stars successfully signed on for future seasons with hefty pay hikes.

While Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, who play Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter and Penny respectively on the show, got a pay rise from $325,000 per episode to $1 million, there has also been an  increased cut of the show's backend from 0.25 percent to 1.25 percent for the three stars.

Meanwhile, their costars Simon Helberg (Howard Holowitz) and Kunay Nayyar (Raj Kuthrapalli) managed to secure pay rise to the tune of their three costars', reports The Hollywood Reporter.

This puts the Big Bang cast in the same league as the Friends cast, who drew a salary of $1 million per episode towards the end of the hit sitcom.

The Big Bang cast and crew resume shooting for the eighth season shortly.
