Kangana RanautThe winners of the 63rd National Film Awards have been announced. The 11-member jury was headed by Ramesh Sippy.

Best Film: Baahubali - The Beginning

Best Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Bajirao Mastani 

Best Actor: Amitabh Bachchan for Piku

Best Actress: Kangana Ranaut for Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Best Supporting Actor: Samuthirakani for Visaranai 

Best Supporting Actress: Tanvi Azmi for Bajirao Mastani

Best Cinematography: Sudeep Chatterjee for Bajirao Mastani.

Best Original Screenplay: Juhi Chaturvedi for Piku and Himanshu Sharma for Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

Best Adapted Screenplay: Vishal Bhardwaj for Talvar

Best Debut film of a Director: Neeraj Ghaywan for Masaan.

Best Film in Wholesome Entertainment: Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Best Choreography: Remo D'Souza for Bajirao Mastani (for the songs Pinga and Deewani Mastani)

Best Hindi Film: Dum Laga Ke Haisha

Best Tamil Film: Visaranai

Best Assamese Film: Kothanodi

Best Bengali Film: Shankhachil

Best Editing: Visaranai

Best Playback singer (Female): Monali Thakur for Moh Moh ke Dhaage (in Dum Laga Ke Haisha)

Best Playback Singer (Male): Mahesh Kale for Katyar Kaljat Ghusali

Best Song: Kaathirun Nu Kaathirunnu from Ennu Ninte Moideen

Best Music: Ilaiyaraja for Thaarai Thappattai

Nargis Dutt award for Best Film on National Integration: Nanak Shah Fakir

Best Costume award: Nanak Shah Fakir

Special Jury Mention: Kalki Koechlin for Margarita, With A Straw.

Best Film on Environmental Conservation/ Preservation: Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal

Best Children's Film: Duronto

Best Child Artist: Gaurav Menon for Ben

Best Film on Social Issues: Nirnayakam

Best Location Sound Recordist: Talvar

This is Amitabh's fourth win after 1990's Agneepath, 2005's Black and 2009's Paa.

This is the third National award for Kangana after last year's Queen, and 2009's Best Supporting Actress award for Fashion.

The actress called it the 'best birthday gift' especially since she got the honour with Bachchan. 'It is the best birthday gift I could have got. I am
thrilled and feel blessed especially since Mr Bachchan is the best actor with me,' Kangana said in a statement.

Karan Johar, who co-produced Baahubali, tweeted: 'So proud to be associated with #Baahubali ...the national award validation for truly the best film of the year!

He also congratulated Amitabh Bachchan: 'And the Legend is awarded...amit uncle is an unbelievable tour de force...#piku...#nationalaward...@SrBachchan...huge congratulations!!'
