Aamir Khan

Reactions continue to pour in on Aamir Khan's remark on the rising intolerance in the country.

Shatrughan Sinha: 'Am fond of Amir Khan & family. But wholeheartedly disapprove of the idea of India being labelled intolerant by him and others too. Our vast motherland is inherently & essentially peace loving and respectful of every caste, creed, religion and celebrates communal harmony. PK, where Hindu Gods&Goddess were made fun of in no uncertain terms wud not have seen such success if India was intolerant.'

Shekhar Kapur: 'For centuries we've assimilated more cultures invaders religions conversions n migrants than anywhere in world. How r we #IntolerantIndia?'

Hrithik Roshan: 'What I learn from this -even when attacked u must find d power to respond and not react! Well done @aamir_khan.'

Rakeysh Mehra: 'I am moved to tears yet stronger- Aamir is a true son of the soil Jai hind.'

Sudhir Mishra: 'It is Aamirs land just as it is anybody else's. Beyond this there is not much to say except that why shud v even have to say it. The word Pandit means d enlightened one or d skilled one or Maestro. And Aamir qualifies!'

Aparna Sen: 'Amir made Satyameva Jayate - a great service to our nation! Being patriotic doesn't mean shutting your eyes to all that's wrong around us! Amir Khan's concerns should be taken seriously instead of branding him anti national! It is remarks like Sadhvi's that are really divisive!'

Amrita Puri: 'I think Aamir Khan has been misunderstood. An unnecessary controversy has been made out of his statement expressing concern. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I believe that India has become increasingly intolerant as a nation. We need to peace out.'
