Aamir Khan's 50th birthday celebrations on March 14 will be a grand affair but he has no clue about it yet.
“Kiran (Rao, wife) has organised something with close friends and family. All I have been told is that there is a party that she is taking me to. I have no idea where, or of the guest list," Aamir explained to the assembled media at the DVD launch of his latest film PK in Mumbai.
Apparently, the venue of the party is Hotel Shillim in Lonavla.
He may be turning 50, but the actor continues to be fit and active. In his next film Dangal, he plays a wrestler. The role is reportedly based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Phogat, the father of wrestlers Geeta and Babita.
“When I was shooting for PK and Dhoom 3, I weighed 68 kilos with nine per cent body fat. Now I weigh 90 kilos and I don't have any plans to put on more weight,” he said.
He added, “I have become vegetarian, with no meat and eggs. I am also learning the Haryanvi language for the role."
Aamir Khan’s last film, PK, was a huge success even though a controversy erupted that it made fun of godmen and religious practices.
Aamir apologised for unintentionally hurting anyone’s sentiments: "The film is loved by the majority. I feel bad if I hurt a single person; that was not my intention at all. We said what we wanted to say because it was an important point. But I want to apologise if I hurt people."
The director of the film, Rajkumar Hirani said, “This is the first time I have deleted scenes in a film. Now when we watch them (the deleted scenes) we realise that those scenes were funny but because of the length we could not include them."
Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said the film took five years to make and another six-seven months in the editing room "perfecting every scene".
