Directed by Priyadarshan, Khatta Meetha is a remake of the hit Malayalam film, Vellanakalude Nadu. The latter, which was also directed by Priyadarshan, starred Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Shobana.
Khatta Meetha toplines Akshay Kumar and popular South star Trisha Krishnan, who is making her Bollywood debut. Akshay plays a construction contractor who has big dreams but no money. Trisha is an honest municipal commissioner who will not allow him to cut corners.
The film releases July 23.
