Steven Spielberg announced the winner in the Best Film category, and that was us. Walking the red carpet was electrifying but getting on the stage after we won the Best Film Award cannot be described in words.
As soon as our name was called out, I ran to the stage though I was not supposed to go first. As I ran, Brad Pitt crossed my path. I was totally shocked. He shook hands with me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Brad Pitt would come and congratulate me! Hopefully, I will get a chance to work with him someday.
Though I ran, I was the last person to reach the stage. When I got there, I started crying. We were on the stage for the next hour or so. Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron came and spoke to us then.
Adrien Brody met us at the Governor's Ball, and spoke to all of us. He told me that I have a flair for shooting people in their heads! I also spoke to Ben Kingsley who said he was a fan of our movie. We saw Tom Cruise and Micky Rourke.
Next, I went to Fox Searchlight and gave interviews. I met my parents and cousins too. After that, we went to ABC Channel for an interview which was with the entire crew of Slumdog and Danny Boyle. It was informal interview where we had to hold the Oscar statuettes. Resul Pookutty was with us the whole time. But Rahman left after the Fox Searchlight party.
