Originally a software engineer for Oracle, Mahadevan entered the industry with AR Rahman's Kandukondain Kandukondain.
Then came his music album, Breathless, after which he got together with friends Ehsaan and Loy to start composing movie soundtracks.
Outside of that, Mahadevan frequently collaborates with leading jazz musicians like Zakir Hussain and John McLaughlin.
