I will not reveal what kind of relationship we share, whether there is romance or not.

How was it working with Adhyayan?

I have exactly two scenes with him. But I have seen him perform even I was not on the sets and he is very honest performer. He has a very difficult role, and has put in a very intense performance.

You have to live up to the expectations of the original Raaz, which was a big hit. Does that put pressure?

No. We should detach ourselves from the original or else you will end up copying something from that. The content is completely different.

What kind of research did you do to bring a touch of reality to your character?

I learnt some painting but couldn't pursue that for long, as we were bound by time. I just learnt how to hold the brush and draw some strokes on the canvas. The paintings were done by a professional. I also read a lot of books and watched movies to get into the character.

What are your favourite horror films?

The Shining, Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and the French film The Orphanage.

You have always been a part of the Bhatt camp. How was the experience of working with them?

They exploit me for being family! But they also know how to get the best out of me. It is nice to have people whom you know. They know how to pull the strings and get it out of you. We share the same sensibilities as far as films go.

But why not work under other banners?

Nothing excited me. The kinds of films I want to do are different from the films you see in Bollywood. I really can't stand that.
