Inspired by Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece, The Seven Samurai, Rajkumar Santoshi gathers an ensemble of gifted veterans like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Amrish Puri and Danny Denzongpa to name a few, and makes them a part of a operation, namely China Gate, which requires a bunch of ex-army men to take on a fierce village dacoit.
