Kaamannana Makkalu is the remake of Malayalam film Thommanum Makkalum which was directed by Shafi abd starre Mammootty, Lal and Rajan P Devin.
The Kannada version was directed by actor Gurudatt who lifted the music Majaa (S A Rajkumar was the music director) which was the Tamil remake of Thommanum Makkalum.
Sudeep played the role of Mammootty while Deepu was the heroine. Released last June, the film was able to recover its investment for the producer. Even the distributors were happy.
