When you shot Kurukshetra, was the atmosphere in Kashmir different from what it was last time?
The shooting of Kurukshetra happened much closer to the border while we had shot Kirtichakra near Srinagar.
Kurukshetra was shot in the original Kargil hills where windy conditions made shooting difficult. We even saw Pakistani soldiers watching us while we were shooting the film.
You have made films which were autobiographical until now. Do you have plans to move away from the routine?
Of course, I do have stories which are not related to me in any way. But never forget that I have started off with the genre of films which are highly challenging to be made.
Will your next film, which is based on the Kandahar hijack episode star Kamal Hassan and Mohanlal?
Mohanlal has agreed to be part of the film but talks are going on with Kamal Hassan. He once told me that such a theme was in his mind as well. I sincerely hope that I can make the film with the two great actors in the lead.
