In an interview, you had said that the film is more like Mr India.
Mr India is a very entertaining film - it's got songs like Hawa hawai and Kaante nahi kat ti, it's got children and fantasy.
The children look very real. Their hair was normal, their noses were running… Children in Hindi films generally don't look real, except for films like Taare Zameen Par and in Fanaa. The boy in Fanaa is not wearing designer clothes. He's wearing kurta pajamas. As he is a Muslim, he calls his parents, Ammi and Abu. He speaks in a normal language; he doesn't say 'Yo' and all that rubbish.
That's why the spirit in my film is more like Mr India. I saw to it that the children looked real. I made sure their hair was unkempt. If it was neat, I would ruffle it up. Even adults in real life have crumpled clothes by the end of the day. But filmi children have starched clothes even when they return from school.
But my story is not like Mr India.
