Neither party was technically drunk in this sequence, but the scene is integrally about the drink as Anupam Kher sneaks up to a liquor store to tentatively buy a bottle he smuggles sheepishly home in order to bond with his son, Parveen Dabas.

Ranvir Shorey, playing his other son, and Kher are mixing drinks to ridiculously funny effect as Shorey drops ice onto a half-full glass, spilling whiskey with the splash. Kher disagrees with this method and says it's the other way around, isn't it, "which is why they say, 'on the rocks.'"

Shorey is disgruntled, Kher is patient, and his daughter's demanding a drink too, and, in all this chaos, Dabas enters and announces he's a teetotaller -- at which point the father loses it, and the scene ends in a startlingly touching outburst. Check out the video.
