9. Keshto Mukherjee in Golmaal
Mukherjee, Hindi filmdom's iconic drunk, was an absolute teetotaller. A master of the hiccupped word, he was consistently memorable and any of his performances could have made it to this list, so I picked one where he riffed opposite scene-stealing maestro Utpal Dutt.
Here, Dutt's irate industrialist has been arrested for an accident, and Keshto, persisting under the belief that he's found a fellow hooch-hawker, spills liquor on him and is side-splittingly indignant to see Dutt's lack of respect for the fluid. Brilliant.
