I worked for producer Ratan Jain's Yes Boss and Badshah. From then, we have been waiting for the right script for me to direct. When I finished scripting Maan Gaye, I approached him. He liked the script and was ready to produce it.

But I had no cast in mind, and was thinking of taking smaller actors. But Ratan Jain brought in Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal, Rahul Bose, Kay Kay Menon and Pawan Malhotra. I got the best cast.
