Emily Blunt in Young Victoria
Produced by Martin Scorsese and written by Gosford Park's Julian Fellowes, this would have been an interesting enough prospect even if it didn't star the fantastic Emily Blunt. Thankfully, alongside the reliably excellent Miranda Richardson and Jim Broadbent, it does.
Blunt, introduced to international audiences with The Devil Wears Prada and a scenestealer in the recent Charlie Wilson's War, plays the Queen in her youth as she romances -- and rules alongside -- Prince Albert, played by Rupert Friend. The film is directed by the Canadian director Jean-Mark Vallee.
