Omung Kumar
The only one of this lot to emerge this century -- OK's first film was 2002's Dil Hai Tumhaara -- this smart young tv-compere-turned-art-director has forged quite the name for himself in a very, very short time.
His early films included refreshing visuals like Jhankaar Beats and Masti, but after trying to go vaguely experimental in Shabd, he was noticed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and got to make those peculiarly stunning sets for Black.
There was no looking back, and OK continues to keep cinema -- and his filmography -- fascinating; heck, his last two movies were Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Saawariya. Talk about eclectic.
