How was it acting with Rajnikanth in a different role?
I don't how to explain. It was different in Kuselan. I am like his typical fan in the film. It's funny and different. I have known him since my childhood though I haven't worked with him for quite some time. But we keep do keep meeting each other at some function or the other.
What do you have to say about the three versions of the film?
Kadha Parayumbol was a typical Malayalam movie, subtle and realistic. In Tamil and Telugu, we can't have that much realism because people expect something more especially when Rajni Sir is there. So there are slight changes. It's a little loud with a little masala thrown in though the content is the same.
Wasn't it strenuous shooting Kuselan and Kathanayakudu back-to-back?
No, not at all. It was hectic but we never felt like we were shooting two different films. The shooting was very fast and we did not feel the tension. Vasu Sir (director P Vasu) planned everything so well.
Are you looking forward to the film's release?
Yes.
This is your Telugu film (Kathanayakudu) after quite some time...
Yes. Three years after Swami.
Do you feel happy that these three films are part of your filmography?
Yes.
Is it one of the best films you have done so far?
Definitely.
