You have been selective in signing films. There was so some news that you had signed a Telugu film titled Gopi, Gopika, Godavari...
I haven't signed it. I was given the story of Gopi, Gopika, Godavari... which they wanted to rework some more. I don't know how far it has gone. As of now, I am working on this exciting film in Kerala.
Is it Kutti Srank which is being directed by Shaji N Karun?
Yes. It's such a brilliant film.
Would you like to tell us more about it?
All I can I say that it's a dream come true to be working with someone like Shaji Sir. I have never explored any of the characters I have played to the depths of which he has explored the character that I am portraying now. It's been quite a trip for me and since it's my first time working with him, I am pretty excited.
You mean to say it's a layered character?
Absolutely. Every time I feel like he's peeled off the last layer, there's more.
What made you sign the film?
It was Shaji Sir. I didn't know Mammootty Sir was in the film till I landed in Kerala. All my characters have a certain kind of reserve where sexuality is concerned. The character I am playing hails from a village and she's very raw. Since it's a period film, it gave me a chance to look at this other side which I have never really tried to explore before. She's got a strong sexual nature.
In the picture: A still from Kutti Srank.
