Directed by Tulasidas, College Kumaran's story revolves around Mahatma College and Kumaran who runs the college canteen for over ten years.
"College Kumaran is not just another laugh riot," says Suresh Poduval, who has scripted the film.
"Kumaran has been virtually the heart and soul of the campus for several generations of students. The students and even the teachers turn towards him for several issues as he is acceptable to all. There are references to several topical issues concerning the campus which are being discussed in the film."
This is Tulasidas' second movie with Mohanlal after the comedy film Mr Brahmachari.
Poduval agrees that the theme came to mind as they were discussing Mohanlal's earlier films like Sarvakalasala and Sukhamo Devi, which were campus-based and are still cherished by the audiences of all ages.
