It's harvest time not just for crops but films as well. Sankranthi, the harvesting season also ushers in a period of plenty in the Telugu film industry.
This year there are four films vying for release dates between January 10 and 15. A look at some of them:
Okka Magaadu
Director: Y V S Chowdhary
Cast: Nandamuri Balakrishna, Anushka Shetty
Nandamuri Balakrishna (Balayya) is set to appear in a dual role with different makeovers in this film directed by Y V S Chowdhary.
Balayya's first film in 2008 will have the usual dance and fight scenes the hero is known for.
Anushka Shetty (paired with Nagarjuna in Don and whose Lakshyam was a super hit last year) and Nisha Kothari share screen space with Balayya.
Simran is said to appear in a "well-etched cameo".
Music is by Mani Sarma while Anand Sai is the art director.
