Director Sanjay Gupta began his career on a pumping note with G P Sippy's Aatish.

The modern-day Deewar of two brothers on different sides of law featured Sanjay Dutt, Atul Agnihotri and Aditya Panscholi. Whereas Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor played the spicy girlfriends to the best of their abilities.

Gupta's technical finesse and love for lavish budgets was evident in his tendency to can larger-than-life shots in exotic outdoors. Not to forget his uber cool presentation of the stars.

The tradition continues with subsequent high-profile albeit snazzy crime capers like Kaante, Musafir and Zinda.
