 Nominee Spotlight: Viggo Mortensen
Viggo moved to Los Angeles a couple of years later, and starred in Salvation!, the film notable because he met -- and almost immediately married -- his co-star, Exene Cervenka. The couple divorced after close to 11 years, and had a son, Harry -- who later proved to have quite the impact on his dad's career.
For now, Mortensen started to gain footing as a character actor, seemingly content with consistent minor roles even in major movies, like Brian De Palma's Carlito's Way and Ridley Scott's GI Jane. A poet, musician and artist -- all the paintings by his character in A Perfect Murder (above) are Viggo's own work -- Mortensen was more than fine staying low-profile.
