V Shantaram's magnificent Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje might have been made over half a century ago, but still remains the most memorable dance-competition film in Hindi cinema. Gopi Krishna danced up a storm, mixing both Kathak and ballet, and visually the film saw the iconic director at his most spectacular. Wow.
