Sanjay Nirupam: Politician
Born in Bihar, Sanjay started his career as a journalist. He shot into the limelight as executive editor of the Sena Journal, Dopahar-Ka-Samna. He was handpicked by Shiva Sena Bal Thackeray to represent the party in the Rajya Sabha.
However he had differences with the BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who was the architect of the BJP-Shiva Sena alliance in Maharastra. In April 2005, Nirupam joined the Congress Party.
Incidentally, there seems to be no signs of acrimony between Sanjay and Pramod Mahajan's son, Rahul who is also on the show.
