Asha Bhosle, in concert
"People at times say they don't want to hear an old song," she jokes at her concerts before launching into the foot-tapping number from Mera Saya. "But I am an old person and I have been around for a very long time." Then she pauses for a minute, and says, "Now, let me sing a few lines, and if you don't like the song, I will stop."
Needless to say the vibrant number sends the audience into frenzy, often leading to an encore.
And it was not just the older people in the audiences who go crazy over Asha's rendition of Jhumka Gira Re. The younger audiences give her a huge ovation, too.
