As for Mammootty, he said he was aware of the high expectations from the viewers as the film comes from the team that created Rajamanikyam.
"But I think the audiences are looking forward to a variety in roles. I am happy that my recent roles have different shades. Acting in Annan Thampi has been a very interesting experience for me," said our hero.
Elaborating further on Mammootty's role, script writer Benny said, "The Annan or the elder brother in Annan Thampi is a tapori kind of hard nut living in Pollachi. Thampi or the younger brother is a mute character and an actor in a ballet troupe.
"They are twins but are not really fond of each other. Their parents decided to separate the kids when they were small. The elder of the two was sent to a relative's place in Pollachi. The two continued their dislike even after growing up but years later, they come to realise the strength of the blood ties."
