Earlier this year, Sathyan Anthikkad directed you in Vinodayathra, which was a big hit. Do you always deliberately go for variety in your roles?
I wish it was like that. Okay, I would like to experiment with my roles. But to be frank, there is not much strategic planning going behind the selection of films as widely believed.
And even with all the planning, things may not work out the way we want them to be. It is often plain luck that one is offered roles with different shades.
Vinod in Sathyan Anthikkad's Vinodayathra was a carefree young man while Ajith in Calcutta News is the sort who gives the feeling to his friends that he will find some solution to any problem, if he is around.
Films like Speed Track and July 4 came in between as well. So it is a mixed bag considering the roles. I am always on the look out for more interesting projects.
