The best compliment for Saawariya that you have received so far?
The response has been massive and overwhelming. My phone hasn't stopped ringing. Bouquets, messages and mails have been pouring in. We all have worked so hard and I was longing to see this day.
The compliment I cherish the most came from Sanjayji. He said he didn't need a Rahman or anyone else. He said he had found his Rahman in me. He said, 'Monty is a complete composer and I don't see music beyond Monty.'
This kind of recognition from a filmmaker of his stature means a lot.
Your cousin Mithoon Sharma, is also a rising music composer. Some of his songs like Tere bin (Bas Ek Pal), Maula Mere (Anwar), Aadat (Kalyug) and Woh Lamhe (Zeher) have become very popular.
Mithoon is my father's younger brother Naresh Sharma's son. We have played cricket together and I've had the most amazing time with him. His work is moving, genuine and from the heart. We appreciate each other's compositions but hardly get time to discuss work. Both of us are working towards making our families proud.
Your ultimate dream.
I want to win an Oscar some day.
