While all the paraphernalia -- curly wig, purple suits, ruffled shirts, thick glasses, made him appear suitably unflattering, Akshay's performance was the stuff spontaneity is made of.
His metamorphosis from a hah-hah-hah goof to a sweet 'n' sensible astronaut required him to alternate into two contrasting personalities. And he managed to do that quite convincingly without ever jarring our senses.
