It is less than a year since Mungaru Male was released. Now you are the busiest star in the Kannada film industry. How do you feel about this transformation in your career?
I am not only thrilled but I have also become very emotionally attached to the people of Karnataka who have given so much of love and affection. Yes, I am busy as an actress and I have even taken many modelling assignments in Bangalore. In fact, people here think I belong to the state.
That is why I have been learning Kannada -- I can sign in Kannada now. I am also making conscious efforts to speak the language at public functions and in my interviews to television channels. Of course, I have not yet become very proficient in speaking, reading and writing in Kannada, but I assure you that I will be a complete Kannadithi (Kannada girl) by the time I celebrate my next birth day.
Ever since I acted in Mungaru Male, I have been doing only Kannada films. And even if I accept any other offers, it will only be when I am free here.
