The general perception about films is that it is a big bad world where girls from good families rarely turn up. Did you have any such feelings?
(Laughs) The whole unit must have been stunned to see the number of people who accompanied me on the first day of our shooting. Almost the entire family and friends were present there. As I was not a film buff myself, the whole atmosphere was new to me. But soon I realised how different is the industry, unlike some of the popular perceptions.
How was it working with such a senior writer-director like Lohitadas in your first film?
Amazing! I had heard about his so-called temper, but I found him to be really cordial. He had tough time with lots of fresh faces but he was careful not to scold us when we made mistakes in front of the camera. He later told us that he was careful not to yell at us, as we were inexperienced. He felt it might reflect in our performances. I feel genuinely lucky to have made my entry into films in his film.
