I'm petrified of heights and there was this shoot on a hilly terrain where Raju Sundaram, the choreographer, wanted to me to stand on top of a muddy, slippery and narrow cliff. I was supposed to look at Mahesh Babu in front of me. I did not know how steep it was and the thought of falling made me tremble.

I did not know what to do but they wanted the shot. So Surendar Reddy, my director came running up the cliff (I don't how he achieved that because it was so slippery) and sat below on my extreme right ducking (so that he was not visible) and held my hand. And it was because of that support that I could stand and face the camera. I will never forget that shot. If either of us had slipped, we would not have been able to help each other.

M F Husain was on the sets that day (Amrita is Husain's muse after he saw her as Poonam in Vivaah).

Could you talk about Husain saab?

It was so nice of Husain saab to come and watch me shoot in Dubai. The first time he came on the sets, he said he would send me his car. So for the next few days he would send me his Bentley with the driver at 7 am. The car would pick me up at the hotel and take me all the way to Hatta Dam (which was quite a distance) and then drop me back in the evening.
