Paheli might not have made it as one of the Oscar nominees but it's inarguably another feather in Rani's pretty cap.

The Princess-like quality to star's demeanor gels perfectly with the grandly filmed folk fantasy, Paheli.

Under Amol Palekar's deft direction and Shah Rukh Khan's generous budget, Paheli paints a fairy-tale picture of a lonely newly married girl who falls in love with the lookalike of her husband. The only problem is that the latter's a ghost.

Besides looking breathtaking, Rani rendered extraordinary grace and touching sentimentality to her Laachi, which makes her instantly convincing and lovable.
