Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Kajol
It rained newcomers in the early 90s with Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and
Kajol leading the pack.
As the daughter of filmmaker Ravi Tandon (Khel Khel Mein, Khuddar), Raveena had an enviable start. Even as the Mast Mast girl made waves for her modeling work on television and print medium, G P Sippy Films made an offer she could not refuse - a debut opposite Salman Khan, post-Maine Pyaar Kiya euphoria, in Patthar Ke Phool. Too bad though, that the movie bombed.
Still it got Ravs a Filmfare's Lux New Face of the Year award.
Tanuja's doe-eyed offspring Kajol bagged her first film Bekhudi, under newcomer specialist, Rahul Rawail's keen direction. Even before the film
came out, Bollywood was abuzz with the talk of the Fanaa beauty's boundless talent. And though Bekhudi flopped, she didn't.
In comparison, Raj Kapoor's blue-eyed grand-daughter, Karisma didn't have an
RK Banner to kickstart her career. Despite her humble beginnings in the
lame 'n' loud, Prem Quaidi, Lolo managed to hit the bulls' eye.
