Meet Cheran's new heroine

Ramya Nambeeshan has until now been the quintessential pretty girl next door in Malayalam films. Things have changed and how, especially after her tomboy act in Chocolate, perhaps the biggest hit in Malayalam during recent times.

And now she has just joined the list of heroines from Malayalam to go across the border by shooting for a Telugu film.

The actress will also be making her entry into Tamil cinema with Raman thediya Seethai, which has none other than Cheran as the hero. Whether it is Gopika, Padmapriya or Navya Nair, all those who acted with Cheran have turned into actresses of substance.

She has also been part of Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Naalu Pennungal.

Over to Ramya.

You are entering Tamil cinema with a film starring Cheran. How does it feel?

I feel absolutely wonderful. This is certainly the kind of a dream start for a young actress like me. With such a successful team and an experienced actor-director Cheran in the helm of affairs, I am really excited about the project.
