Pluses: The only plus about this film is the coming together of Surya and Asin, after the hugely successful Ghajini. The question is, will they repeat the magic?
Unlike Ghajini, Vel is not an urban film. Surya with a sickle may appeal to the B and C centres but quite unlikely will charm the A centres.
Minuses: Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is very disappointing. Even when director Hari and Surya came together last in Aaru, success eluded them. Surya's last release Sillunu Oru Kathal with Jyothika was also a disaster.
