When actor Ramesh Arvind scored a big hit with his directorial debut Rama Shaama Bhaama, the actor was passing through a difficult phase as an actor. The film's success brought him back to the big league, and he has been a busy actor since.
Now, he's ready with his second film Sathyavaan Saavithri. He himself is the hero, and has two heroines, Jennifer -- who had a fantastic debut in Jogi -- and his lucky mascot in Rama Shaama Bhaama, Daisy Bopanna.
Daisy says her role in Sathyavaan Saavithri is just opposite to what she had played in Rama Shaama Bhaama. "I play Ramesh sir's wife in the film. He is a brilliant technician; I have seen some of the television entertainment content he has directed, and was really impressed with his originality. That was before I worked in Rama Shaama Bhaama. As you know, RSB happened at a time when I was yet to be recognised as a good actress but it made some wonderful changes to my career. I am sure this film will once again prove my credentials as an actress."
According to Arvind, Sathyavan Saavithri is essentially a complete comedy like his first venture, but more stylish in presentation. "When I received the Udaya-Sunfeast best director award for my work, I promised myself that I would make similar films, films that would entertain the entire family. So this project is to give maximum entertainment."
About his character, Ramesh cheekily says, "If you observe the film's poster, you will notice a boy wearing a T-shirt with the letter 'A' standing next to the title, and that makes the title of the film 'Asathyavaan Saavithri.' Yes, the hero is one who utters lies all the time. It is a habit for him, and the film is about such a liar getting himself involved in so many contrived situations. How he comes out of the imbroglio with the help of the lies he invents is the crux of the story."
Jennifer also is happy that her Kannada film career is heading in the direction she prefers. "It would be a cliche if I were to say that I did learn many things from Ramesh, but it is a fact. One thing that I want to emphasise is that in this film, I am a 100 percent glamorous girl, unlike my earlier films where I looked natural."
Ramesh persists with music director Guru Kiran and cameraman PKH Doss who delivered fantastic results in his debut film.
