Now, Telugu Classmates
The film revolves around the lives of a few friends who get together after a decade, when invited by parents of their late classmate. Then the film goes back and forth in time to reveal their college days, twists and turns in their lives. Since it deals with student days, a large part of it is set in college. The movie is all about friends, nostalgia and relationships.
According to Sumanth, "Classmates is in a fresh genre, non run-of-the-mill with some commercial elements. It’s an amalgam of comedy, action and has a mystery element as well. The script has been adapted to suit the Telugu format. A little more prominence is paid to the love element between me and my heroine."
Since the movie deals with different time frames, the characters go through different looks. "I play a 22-year old and a 32-year old. Both the personalities are different," says Sumanth.
