When the Chopras went wrong

Vijay

Yash Chopra's ambitious reworking of Trishul was a complete blooper. Even a hoard of stars like Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Raj Babbar, Moushmi Chatterjee, Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Meenakshi Seshadri, Sonam and Anupam Kher couldn't stop Vijay from being a lacklustre family soap opera.

Vijay, with all its grandeur and Sonam's little red beach number, could barely recreate the paradoxical magic of Trishul's raw rage and refined etiquette.

The filmmaker broached on the 'genuine versus illegitimate' blood conflict yet again for A G Nadiadwala's lame Parampara starring Aamir and Saif Ali Khan. But the audiences got a taste of too much Thakur blood with J P Dutta's Kshatriya coming out around the same time.
