When the Chopras went wrong

Veer-Zaara

Indeed, no one knows the pulse of a romance like Yash Chopra does. He has explored the genre with exceptional sensitivity and unwavering affection in numerous movies.

Somehow this endearing quality was sorely missing in his star-studded cross-border love story of Veer and Zaara.

Even if the melodrama was stunning visually, the pace was drowsy, the narrative was archaic and the characters were hard to relate to.

All Veer-Zaara really established was that Veer is Indian and Zaara is Pakistani. And not to forget why the late Madan Mohan's melodies are timeless.
