What did you love about your version of Victoria No 203?
I am particularly thrilled by my towel dance. It was something that I always wanted to do.
Reportedly, you have had lots of run-ins with a horse during the shooting?
(Laughs) You won't believe how many times the horse misbehaved!
When Kamal first told me that I would have to shoot the film riding a tonga, I felt it was wise to rehearse despite being a trained rider. So we rehearsed with the horse many times.
But when it was time to shoot at Mumbai's Marine Drive, the horse got nervous because of the cars whizzing by. When I tried to mount, it jumped instead of moving forward and almost landed on a car parked by the side! The crowd freaked.
This happened thrice. But I managed to give my shots on time.
Were you nervous?
Oh yes, I was very, very nervous during the first few days. I was facing the camera for the first time! Plus, the people around would first whisper, Ye kaun heroine hai? And then, someone would say, Ye Vinod Mehra ki beti hai!
And that made me nervous. But my director made my life really easy. Both he and Kamal were very patient.
And Jimmy Shergill was so much fun, he would constantly pull pranks on me. Actually, all of them would, so the sets became fun, and I started to relax.
What are your future plans?
I want to act with Karan Johar and Yash Chopra in a big, big film! I don't have a specific hero that I want to work with, but yes, some typical Bollywood films with lots of songs and dances would be nice!
I also want to revive the VM banner. It was always my father's dream to produce quality films and I want to take that dream forward.
