'I want people to feel for those who sacrifice their lives for the country'

Did anyone from the CBI or the SIT team call you after the film was released?

No. I think the media started calling Karthikeyan for his reaction. But I must tell you there is nothing controversial in the film. Everybody knows that there was a delay of 36 hours.

What will be your next project? Mission 90 Days in Hindi?

No. I am planning a film on the Kargil war. We lost so many army men in the war. I want people to know what happens in a war, I want people to feel for those who sacrifice their lives for the country. I was in Kargil but the war started only after I came out.

I am looking for a Hindi producer as I want to make a bilingual. Mohanlal has agreed to act in the film because he saw a lot of patriotism in Keerthichakra.

Why was Mohanlal not there in Mission 90 Days?

Immediately after Keerthichakra, to get his dates for another film was quite a big problem. After Keerthichakra was released, Mammootty called me and showed his interest in doing a film with me. So, I told him the story (of Mission 90 Days) and he agreed.

All said and done, Mohanlal was the person who gave me a life as a film-maker. Nobody would have watched the film if not for Mohanlal because I was a newcomer. So, I told him about the film I was going to do with Mammootty. He said, go ahead and do it.
