How comfortable are you portraying an ordinary housewife from a remote village in Kadha Parayumbol to glamorous ones?
It is indeed exciting and roles like these, which are in stark contrast to the usual ones give you more energy as an artist. I knew that the character in this film is the mother of three kids, but was rather surprised when I came to know that one of them is a tenth standard student (laughs). I hope that I look convincing in this role.
Udayananu Tharam also narrated about the making of a cinema within cinema. How different is Kadha Parayumbol from that theme?
There are no similarities at all. Udayananu Tharam was about an assistant director whose script got stolen by a struggling actor and the events thereafter. Kadha Parayumbol, meanwhile is about a barber and his family who are dire straits for failing to pay school fees on time. It is then that a major film star comes for a shooting at the village. Rumours have it that the super star and the barber knew each other and were on friendly terms.
