The best loved toons!

Mowgli (The Jungle Book)

Bare necessities used to be Mowgli's forte before the ladies in Hollywood decided to compete. Nonetheless, Mowgli is historical enough to be on a stamp. Apparently in Bhutan, he already is.

Mowgli is a part of so many childhoods. Who can forget the lanky boy with dowdy hair and sleepy eyes hobbles about the lush green Indian forest in a red underwear? Gulzar's Chaddi pahen ke phool khila hai version only reconfirms the same.

Inspired by Rudyard Kipling's In, The Jungle Book may not have been a faithful rendition of the original plot, but his fabulous adventures introduce us to fascinating characters like Kaa, Baloo, Bagheera and Sher Khan.

Seriously, who can blame Mowgli for wanting to stay back in the jungle?
