Nandita was extremely happy when she was asked to tie a wet towel on her head for a shot. "Ha! This is the best shot. I feel so cool," she said.
When Lalitha, her screen mother, tied the towel the Kerala way, Nandita laughed, "she is my mother in the film... she is so sweet and takes care of me like a mother. I think she has taken the role very seriously.
"The emotions of this character who doesn't get married is the same everywhere," Nandita said about her role. "She may belong to the 1940s but the feelings are the same.
"I know how society looks at a woman like this even today, forget about 1945 when the story was written. I can empathise with the character," she added.
