The film has increased buzz because of its impressive lineup of stars, a couple of whom are from the Hindi film industry.
Former Miss India, activist and socialite Nafisa Ali plays Bilal's mother, a social activist. The cast also includes Manoj K Jayan, Mamta Mohandas, Bala, Sumeet Naval, Pasupathi, Manasa, Vijayaraghavan, Shereveer Vakil, Lena and Santosh Jogi.
Bala, who made his entry into Malayalam films with Kalabham here sports a long moustache and a role he describes as 'quite sensational.'
Sumeet Naval, who makes his Malayalam debut, is actor Simran's brother. Shereveer Vakil, personal trainer to several Hindi stars -- and villain in a couple of Hindi films -- will be another face fresh to Malayalam cinema. The art direction is by Joseph Nellickal and the music by Alphonse.
Mammootty, or the Big B himself, thinks the film could be particularly different considering three factors, mainly 'the novel narrating style, the pace of the film and of course, the way the characters look.'
