The bridesgroom's mother and his family members give Poov Serae (flowers and sari), haldi-kumkum and jewellery to the bride.
A priest will perform the pooja in the mantap and take the blessings of the Almighty and elders gathered there. The ceremonies are guided by the bride's maternal uncle.
The bride and groom are asked to take seven rounds of the stage. They are led by the boy's brother-in-law and sister. Then they will exchange garlands. The girl goes first followed by the boy. The Kambu is blown at high pitch immediately followed by Dhare.
The girl's parents will hand over the girl's hand to the boy in the presence of his parents. A gold memento is given to the boy. It will be followed by the boy tying the mangasutra on the girl. Everybody will take the raw rice mixed with haldi-kumkum and bless the couple. The groom will hold the bride's hand and take another three rounds of the stage. The sumangalis will do arati and put haldi-kumkum on the couple. Then, the elders and guests will bless the couple
